| Cinquain |
a poem is
a fruit and either it
is good or it be wrong, the tree –
in vain.
| They say | the term cinquain may refer to any poem of five lines. But as a form of poetry, cinquain is obviously defined. The five lines should have different numbers of syllables, like this:
2 – 4 – 6 – 8 – 2.
If the lines are iambic, which is the normal, there are
1 – 2 – 3 – 4 – 1 iambs in the lines, as shown in the example.
